A newly released audio clip has brought renewed attention to Jonathan Majors‘ past legal issues, reportedly capturing the actor acknowledging physical altercations with his former partner, Grace Jabbari.
According to Rolling Stone, the clip—published on Monday—features Majors admitting to pushing Jabbari against a car and strangling her during a conversation with the British dancer and movement coach. The recording is said to have taken place after a prolonged dispute between the two.
This resurfaced audio emerges just days before the scheduled release of Magazine Dreams, a film starring Majors that was initially set for a December 2023 debut but was postponed.
Background on Legal Proceedings
Majors was arrested in March 2023 following a domestic violence incident in Manhattan, where Jabbari accused him of hitting her, twisting her arm, and fracturing her middle finger. During his trial later that year, he faced multiple misdemeanor charges, including assault and harassment.
A jury convicted Majors in December 2023 on one count of misdemeanor assault and a harassment violation, while acquitting him of other charges. In April 2024, he was sentenced to a year-long domestic violence counseling program and was issued a protective order prohibiting contact with Jabbari.
Civil Lawsuit and Additional Allegations
Beyond the criminal case, Jabbari filed a civil lawsuit against Majors in March 2024, alleging defamation and further instances of abuse. The lawsuit was settled in November of that year.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Majors spoke about his past but did not directly address Jabbari’s allegations. He emphasized personal accountability and revealed that he had been working through childhood trauma in therapy.
Reports from The New York Times have also documented allegations from other women, as well as accounts of workplace conflicts during his time on HBO’s Lovecraft Country.
