Ali Pourmohamad, an acclaimed Iranian director, producer, and documentary filmmaker, recently won an award at the Young Iranian Director film and series festival. In a generous act, he has pledged to donate a significant portion of his earnings to charity.
“I confirm that I have donated a large portion of my income from directing two works and a documentary to past and international festivals,” he shared. The charity he supports focuses on providing care for children suffering from serious illnesses. He initially intended to keep his donations private, avoiding media attention. “Now that the news is out, I want to visit charities regularly and help them as much as I can. Hopefully, this will inspire others to do the same,” he added.
Pourmohamad also revealed plans for an upcoming documentary highlighting the struggles of children forced to drop out of school and work. “I want to bring attention to these vulnerable children in Iran and beyond. Many suffer due to war, poverty, or disease, and I hope to contribute to improving their lives in any way possible,” he explained.
Encouraging others to take action, he emphasized the importance of charity work. “There are many organizations worldwide helping those in need. By supporting them, we can uplift entire communities. To me, humanity means making a positive impact on society and assisting the underprivileged,” he stated. As a filmmaker, Pourmohamad has consistently used his platform to shed light on social issues, hoping to inspire change.
