A Batavia woman was arrested on felony drug charges after a traffic stop on Interstate 390 in the Town of Avon on March 17.
Deputy Jerry Pilkenton of the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Highway Patrol Unit pulled over a southbound vehicle at approximately 9:25 p.m. for alleged violations of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The driver, identified as Rhonda Schirmer, 58, of Batavia, was found in possession of crack cocaine, according to Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty.
A passenger, Floyd Stevens, 63, of Rochester, was also discovered with a smaller amount of crack cocaine, authorities said.
Schirmer was charged with felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, along with traffic violations. Stevens was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
Both individuals were processed at the Livingston County Jail and arraigned before Town of Mount Morris Justice Ossont. Due to New York State’s Bail Reform Act, both were released on their own recognizance.
The Geneseo Police Department assisted in the investigation.
